Kick off the Christmas season with a day full of Christmas fun in Marion, Kansas on Saturday, November 29th — the Saturday after Thanksgiving! The Marion Merchants Association is hosting events and activities throughout the day to celebrate the holidays!
Day-long Activities
- Caroling Elves will be wandering Main Street
- Music by Gene Winkler of MCTV20 Live
- Christmas story walk in downtown windows sponsored by the Marion Library
- Mail letters to Santa at the Marion Library
- Christmas Village “Winter Wonderland” on display at 420 E. Main sponsored by St. Luke
- Elf on the Shelf Hunt begins at The Sit Down, 301 E Santa Fe
Events
- 7A – Free brownie bites – The Sit Down, 301 E Santa Fe
- 8:15A – Reindeer 1 Mile Run/Walk starting at Historic Elgin Hotel, 115 N 3rd. Teams of 2–6 must be tied together like a reindeer sleigh. Race starts at 8:45A.
- 9A–1P – Open House at Aunt Bee’s, 1201 E Main
- 9–11A – Biscuits & Gravy at Bill & Essie’s, 301 E Main
- 9A–5P – Write letters to Santa at Jetset Clothing Co., 331 E Main
- 9A–3P – Jingle & Mingle shopping at City of Marion Community Center, 203 N Third
- 9A–4P – Ornament making and hot cocoa at Crafty Cactus, 329 E Main (2 for $5.50)
- 11A–3P – Face painting at Bill & Essie’s ($5/face)
- 10A – Free Cookies for kids at CB Baked Goods, 420 E Main
- 10–11:30A – Free photos and visit with Santa at the Marion City Library, 101 Library St
- 10A–3P – Free rides for kids on the St. Luke Hospital train leaving from CB Depot, 420 E Main
- 11:30A–2:30P – Free 4H petting farm at Marion Library, sponsored by K-State Extension Office
- 12–3P – Pet the Live Camels at Marion City Library
- 12:30–12:45P – Free snow at Historic Elgin Hotel
- 2P – Annual Cookie Swap at the Historic Elgin Hotel, 115 N 3rd. FREE but bring 3 dozen Christmas treats
- 3–5P – Free Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides sponsored by Edward Jones and Marion National, 302 E Main
- 5:30P – Lighted Christmas Parade – Downtown

- Sing Christmas carols in Central Park
- Free hot chocolate offered by St. Luke Hospital & Living Center at CB Baked Goods, 420 E Main
